Elizabeth Coachman, MD will be signing her new book Mary Jane Safford, MD INDOMITABLE MITE on Saturday, March 25th at 2:00-3:30 p.m. at the Safford House Museum. This is the first comprehensive biography of Mary J. Safford, physician, writer, feminist, progressive reformer, who led and extraordinarily adventurous life during the 19th century. Dr. Coachman will be speaking for about 20 minutes and will have both hardback and soft cover books for sale and signing. The soft cover books are $19.49 each and hardcover $28.99 each.

About the author Elizabeth Coachman, MD: Born in Evanston, Illinois, Elizaabeth Grange Okulski Coachman grew up outside Chicago before attending Philadelphia’s Moore College of Art and Rutgers University. After two years in Okinawa, she returned to Philadelphia and gained an MD at Temple University Medical School before receiving pathology training in Florida. Practicing mainly in western Florida she was also on the University of South Florida Medical School’s Clinical Staff. Upon retiring as Laboratory Medical Director at Tarpon Springs’ hospital, she returned to her artistic roots as a printmaker and landscape painter.
