Lunch & Learn: George Inness and George Inness, Jr.: An Arts Legacy in Tarpon Springs

Presented by Lynn Whitelaw

R. Lynn Whitelaw, retired Curator and founding Director of the Leepa Ratner Museum, takes you into the fascinating world of these renowned father-and-son landscape artists. George Inness was one of the most influential artists of the 19th century, often thought of as America’s most significant landscape painter. Inness Jr. became a prolific artist in his own right, and after his father’s death, settled a winter residence here in Tarpon Springs. The Unitarian Universalist Church of Tarpon Springs is a repository for his works, including eight large scale paintings created specifically for the church between 1918 and 1924.Come enjoy a light catered meal and devour knowledge on your lunch break
