Join Tarpon Arts for a reception unveiling the Heritage Museum’s new Maritime Traditions mini-exhibit which looks at local maritime skills, occupations, and equipment and features artifacts from the local sponge, shrimp, crab, fishing, and boat building industries. In addition, see the newly refurbished exhibit, The Greek Community of Tarpon Springs with fascinating items including a diving suit, sponge boat parts, religious objects, instruments, and more. At 7:00 PM, author and archaeologist Brendan Burke from the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum will speak about boat building and fishing. Light refreshments will be served.
