For the program Working On the Central Gulf Coast, scholars will provide perspectives on different types of work in the Tampa Bay area, as well as their own work lives.
The program features anthropologist Ella Schmidt (USF) discussing Mexican immigrants and their work in Pinellas County, historian Gary Mormino (USF) discussing maritime industries in the area—especially the oystering business, and folklorist Tina Bucuvalas (City of Tarpon Springs) discussing the sponge industry.
