Volunteering in the Arts

The City of Tarpon Springs Department of Cultural and Civic Services has opportunities for volunteers to assist at its Cultural Treasures sites.

For those with an interest in the theater, the Performing Arts Center offers professional full-scale productions of dance, theatre, opera, and orchestral works. Ushers are needed throughout the year.

The Cultural Center is home to a variety of exhibits, programs, performances, and a gift shop. Front desk receptionists, gallery assistants to help install exhibits, and hosts to serve at special events are needed.

The Safford House is an 1883 National Register historic house museum located on Parkin Court near the historic district. A dedicated group of volunteers who act as docents, collection assistants, researchers, and gardeners are needed. An interest in the history of Tarpon Springs and an enthusiasm to share that history with others are all that is required.

The Historic Railroad Depot Museum needs docents, receptionists, and archival assistants to help the Historical Society continue its important historic preservation work.

There are tasks and schedules to meet the needs of all who want to volunteer to bring the many Cultural Treasures of Tarpon Springs to the public. Please call 727-942-5605 for further information or to volunteer.
