Tarpon Arts is proud to announce auditions for Libertaire.  Auditions will be held at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S. Casting for Libertaire

Libertaire is the story of how the Statue of Liberty began in dreams of a Frenchman, found her advocate through one of America’s greatest journalists, and was brought to our shores by the will of the American people. Adapted from the award winning screenplay by Elizabeth Indianos, Libertaire will have it’s world premier May 11-13, 2017 at the Tarpon Arts Performing Arts Center.

Actors should be prepared to cold read from the script and improvise. A prepared monologue is welcomed but not required.

AUGUSTE BARTHOLDI – Male, 25-40 – The sculptor who dreams of Liberty

JOSEPH PULITZER – Male, 25-40 – The immigrant newsman who brings the story of Liberty to the people

THE NARRATOR – Female, 25-35 – The voice of Liberty

LABOULAYE – Male, 50-70 – Auguste’s friend & confidant

ENSEMBLE- The Ensemble will play all the remaining roles, from cooks to artists to love interests to presidents. An ability to create strong, distinctive characterization is a must.
