The mission of the Tarpon Springs Public Art Program is to enrich community through art in our surroundings.

Name the Pelican Contest!

The City of Tarpon Springs Public Art Committee has installed a new sculpture on the Sponge Docks at 735 Dodecanese Boulevard by artist Mike Elwell. You are invited to meet the newest resident of the Sponge Docks and help give it a Tarpon-worthy name! Deadline for entries is Friday, July 8, 2022, at 5:00 PM EST. From the entries received, the Public Art Committee will select a winner at their meeting on Wednesday, July 13.

The winner will be awarded a $100 honorarium, and have their photo taken with the pelican sculpture at an award ceremony (date to be determined). The chosen name will be incorporated into a permanent sign at the site of the pelican statue.
